The work

  • Bleeding, repairing or replacing radiators and valves
  • General plumbing repairs - priced per job, not by property size
Requirements

What you'll need to join

Plumbing qualification

A plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3) or membership of a recognised trade body.

Accepted: CIPHE, APHC, WaterSafe, NVQ Level 2 Plumbing, NVQ Level 3 Plumbing

You upload: Qualification or trade body membership certificate

  • Photo ID

A passport or driving licence, so we can confirm who you are.

  • DBS certificate

Can't be over 3 years old (from the issue date). We remind you before it runs out. Team businesses provide one for each person who attends jobs.

  • Public liability insurance

At least £2 million of cover. For a team, the policy must cover your staff and subcontractors, or each person needs their own cover.

  • A UK bank account

Connected through Stripe, so we can pay your earnings each week.

You only take the kinds of job you price. Leave any you don't do blank and customers won't be offered you for them. Each person who attends a job must personally hold the accreditation for that service. Read the full engineer agreement.

Why join

Your prices, your hours, paid weekly

  • Keep 100% of your price

You set your own price for each service - by property size, or for gas, PAT and plumbing by the number of appliances, items or the job. Our fee is added on top for the customer, never taken from your price.

  • Paid every Monday

Customers are charged when you accept their booking. Each completed job is paid to your bank by Stripe the Monday after, once you have uploaded the certificate.

  • Your hours, your area

Set your weekly availability and how far you travel, from 5 to 100 miles. Customers can only book the slots you open.

  • Free to join

No subscription, no monthly fee and no paying for leads.

How you get work

From booking to payment

  1. 1

    A landlord searches their postcode

Landlords, letting agents and homeowners enter the property postcode and the service they need.

  2. 2

They see you if you cover the area

They see your profile, price, reviews and distance if the property is within your travel radius.

  3. 3

    They book, and you accept

They choose a free slot from your availability and their card is held. You get a notification and have up to 12 hours to accept - accepting charges the customer and confirms the job.

  4. 4

You do the job and upload the certificate

Message the customer through the platform if you need to. Upload the certificate when the job is done, and it is paid the following Monday.

How many jobs you get depends on demand in your area, your prices and your reviews. We don't promise a set number of jobs.

FAQs

Questions from plumbers

How do I price plumbing jobs?

You set one price for each kind of job: leaks, taps, toilets, radiators and general repairs. The price is the same whatever the size of the property, and you leave blank any job you don't do. Our fee is added on top for the customer.

Which qualifications do you accept?

A plumbing qualification or trade body membership, such as CIPHE, APHC, WaterSafe, NVQ Level 2 Plumbing or NVQ Level 3 Plumbing. You give us your membership or certificate number and a copy of the certificate.

What do I upload after a job?

A short job report or completion note - what you found and what you fixed, with photos if you like. Uploading it to the booking gives the landlord a record and releases your payment in the next Monday payout.

Can I also offer gas safety checks or legionella assessments?

Yes, if you hold the qualification for each. Every service is approved separately: gas safety checks need Gas Safe registration, and legionella risk assessments need recognised legionella training.

Does it cost anything to join RentalComply?

No. Joining is free, with no subscription or lead fees. Our fee is added on top of your price and paid by the customer, so you receive the full price you set.

How and when do I get paid?

Customers are charged when you accept their booking. Once you complete a job and upload its certificate, the payment goes to your bank through Stripe in the Monday payout run. If you upload the certificate after that Monday's run, the job is paid the Monday after.

How do I get jobs?

Landlords and agents search by postcode and book engineers whose travel radius covers the property. They choose a slot from the availability you set, and you accept the booking request from your dashboard within 12 hours. We can't promise a set number of jobs. It depends on demand in your area and on your prices and reviews.

How long does verification take?

Our team usually reviews new engineers within 1–2 business days of a complete application. We check your accreditation with the scheme provider and review your insurance, DBS and ID.

Ready to take on local compliance jobs?

It's free to apply. Have your accreditation, insurance, DBS and photo ID to hand, and you can finish in one go.
