For energy assessors

EPC assessment work for accredited domestic energy assessors

Landlords need a valid EPC before they can let a property, and a new one every ten years. RentalComply sends you those bookings from landlords and letting agents in the area you cover, at the price you set for each property size.

We're signing up our first energy assessors. Join early to be first in line for jobs in your area.

The work

Jobs you can take

  • Domestic EPC assessments on rental homes
  • Prices set by property size, from studios to five-bedroom homes
  • Commercial EPCs, if you choose to offer them
Requirements

What you'll need to join

Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) accreditation

You must be a member of a government-approved accreditation scheme to lodge EPCs.

Accepted: Elmhurst Energy, Stroma Certification, Quidos, ECMK, Sterling Accreditation, EAS

You upload: Scheme membership certificate

  • Photo ID

A passport or driving licence, so we can confirm who you are.

  • DBS certificate

Valid for 3 years from the issue date. We remind you before it runs out. Team businesses provide one for each person who attends jobs.

  • Public liability insurance

At least £2 million of cover. For a team, the policy must cover your staff and subcontractors, or each person needs their own cover.

  • A UK bank account

Connected through Stripe, so we can pay your earnings each week.

You must be able to lodge EPCs on the register through your accreditation scheme. Each person who attends a job must personally hold the accreditation for that service. Read the full engineer agreement.

  • Keep 100% of your price

You set your own price for each service and property size. Our fee is added on top for the customer, never taken from your price.

Customers pay when they book. Each completed job is paid to your bank by Stripe the Monday after, once you have uploaded the certificate.

  • Your hours, your area

Set your weekly availability and how far you travel, from 5 to 100 miles. Customers can only book the slots you open.

  • Free to join

No subscription, no monthly fee and no paying for leads.

How you get work

From booking to payment

  1. 1

    A landlord searches their postcode

Landlords, letting agents and homeowners enter the property postcode and the service they need.

  2. 2

They see you if you cover the area

They see your profile, price, reviews and distance if the property is within your travel radius.

  3. 3

    They book and pay upfront

They choose a free slot from your availability and pay online. You get a notification, and the job appears in your dashboard and calendar.

  4. 4

You do the job and upload the certificate

Message the customer through the platform if you need to. Upload the certificate when the job is done, and it is paid the following Monday.

How many jobs you get depends on demand in your area, your prices and your reviews. We don't promise a set number of jobs.

FAQs

Questions from energy assessors

Which accreditation schemes do you accept?

Any government-approved domestic energy assessor scheme, including Elmhurst Energy, Stroma Certification, Quidos, ECMK, Sterling Accreditation or EAS. You give us your assessor number from the EPC register and your membership certificate.

Can I set different prices for different property sizes?

Yes. You set a price for each size, from studio flats to five-bedroom homes, and customers see the right price for their property before they book.

Who lodges the EPC?

You do, through your accreditation scheme, as you normally would. Then you upload the certificate to the booking so the landlord has it in their dashboard.

Does it cost anything to join RentalComply?

No. Joining is free, with no subscription or lead fees. Our fee is added on top of your price and paid by the customer, so you receive the full price you set.

How and when do I get paid?

Customers pay when they book. Once you complete a job and upload its certificate, the payment goes to your bank through Stripe in the Monday payout run. If you upload the certificate after that Monday's run, the job is paid the Monday after.

How do I get jobs?

Landlords and agents search by postcode and book engineers whose travel radius covers the property. They choose a slot from the availability you set and pay online, and the booking appears in your dashboard straight away. We can't promise a set number of jobs. It depends on demand in your area and on your prices and reviews.

How long does verification take?

Our team usually reviews new engineers within 1–2 business days of a complete application. We check your accreditation with the scheme provider and review your insurance, DBS and ID.

Ready to take on local compliance jobs?

It's free to apply. Have your accreditation, insurance, DBS and photo ID to hand, and you can finish in one go.
